Those Vets are liars. The Commander in the ad has taken back his story calling it a "terrible mistake". Obviously he know he signed onto a pack of lies. He should now apologize and urge the others to do the same.

The medic turns out not to be the one who treated JK. Yet he has the nerve to state that JK faked his wound for a Purple Heart. As if.

Two crewmen weren't on JK's boat and yet claim to know what happened with Rassam's rescue better than Rassman and everyone on Kerry's boat. The two SwiftVets were a minimum of 50 yards away, probably further, in the middle of a tense battle where mines were going off. Their whole argument seems to be that Rassman and the Navy was lying when he claimed he was under enemy fire when JK saved his life. But Rassman is far more credible than these two. Plus, the two vets claiming Rassman lied never said anything for 35 years and only do now in the midst of a sharply divided campaign.

Furthermore the money for SWiftVets comes primarily from well-known rightwing sources. When they claims thay are not political that is just outrageously false. The vets could also have easily been paid off to say these things as one admitted he had just bought a house from the main financier, a long-time rightwing contributor from Texas. And how good a deal did he get on that house we wonder?

Do we have freedom of speech? Absolutely. But should people be allowed to put on TV ads libeling people? No. Libel is a crime. Maybe these vets actually believe their own BS, but no court in the land would believe them against Rassman and the Kerry crew's testimonies, nor against the Navy's own reports. Now they have crossed the line and don't be surprised if they all get sued if this ad runs. JK has ten million in his legal fund for just this purpose.

Finally, these SwiftVets are mad that Kerry testified before congress about atrocities. They distort what he said and why he said it. Kerry would never blame soldiers, He was blaming the top brass and policy-makers in Washington, and the war as a whole. That's why he admitted his unit had taken part in atrocities too. Get it? Hell, Robert McNamara admits it all now so why even debate it?

BTW: Kerry helped end the war and saved many-many lives of men like the ones lying about him now, and now we know the Vietnam War was almost completely senseless to begin with.
