Of course the number of we 'far righters' hasn't shrunk at all. We are gradually coming to understand that the GOP is increasingly hostile to decency and will eventually abandon our values altogether. So I suspect we are beginning to simply stay home. And that's fine by me, Ann. As we "shrink," you will find it harder, not easier, to win elections. Your only hope will be to out-lie and out-leftist the Democrats-- shifting ever leftward as you are doing even now. The more you push us out of the party, the more leftward you will go. Moderates are already now indistinguishable from leftists. They are in fact just leftists who are in the GOP.

Your dream of an America that speaks with one whining and comprehensively selfish voice has almost come true.
