Well - I guess I think of power stations in Mega Watts - so not sure where such units are used.

As for the trains - in the Ohio we have had a political football for a train from Cleveland to Cincinnati via Columbus. Fortunately it has never been given tax dollars. We have light rail into downtown - and we pay a sales tax to keep that afloat.

My train rides in Japan have been from Tokyo south - one big city after another - much like the east coast. From the trains there were lots of cab rides. Anyway - I think Japan is about the size of California - not even an apple compared to the watermelon size of the US.
