Kerry saved thousands of US lives. He alone had the courage to represent the troops (yes he was, read it) and expose the top brass and policy-makers (including Nixon and the CIA) for covering up a whole series of awful atrocious warring. The Phoenix Program, Agent Orange, the every day free fire zones where US gunners would sometimes just shoot anything that moves. Phoenix was an assassination program you know. They fictionalized it in APOCALYPSE NOW. Not only was it real, it was very successful in taking out thousands of VC and VC suspects. They also got a lot of names wrong and killed the wrong people. Stuff happens in war, right? Thank God Kerry helped put a stop to that nightmare.
