It is taking longer to get the Iraqis up to speed than I had expected. Otherwise, the troop strength is fine.

I knew we would take more casualties. Since I was surprised how low the fatality rate was to begin with, I have not found much to deplore in the overall fatalitiy rate.

I knew it would be expensive. I do not think I had an exact figure in mind, but I have not felt particularly surprised by any of the budget estimates.
