Iraq shuts al-Jazeera office Sat 7 August, 2004 12:18 BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraq's interim government has ordered Qatar-based al-Jazeera satellite television network to close its Baghdad office for one month on Saturday, an interior ministry official says. The official said Prime Minister Iyad Allawi would announce the decision at a news conference shortly. Interior Minister Falah al-Naqib said this week that Arabic satellite channels were encouraging kidnappings by showing images of hostages threatened with executions.
