I read it Kerry's speech too. I think his speaking up caused the Vietnam war to be ended sooner. As it was an elective war entered into under false pretenses (Gulf of Tonkin incident) like the current war in Iraq, speaking against it was the moral thing to do. Kerry may have saved many thousands who otherwise might have died for the pride of politicians and nationalistic warmongers. He did the right thing then, and he'll do the right thing as President. Ask John McCain, former Vietnam POW.
