Take garment manufacturing that has been offshored for 30-40 years. How badly has the US economy been affected by that? I know that the garment manufacturers in India make very low profits, if any. Who benefits?

A leather jacket that retails between $100-150 in US arrives in US stores at less than $50. So the difference stays in the US feeding the US economy.
