David Kay, who should know something about this, came to the conclusion that we were wrong. The evidence pointed in that direction. There is always room for speculation -- but when that speculation is just that -- speculation -- you cannot give it much weight. Chemical programs were almost worthless and biological programs could be terrible but that requires total insanity -- not the kind of self-aggrandizing stupidity of Saddam. The real threat is from nuclear and there we have a high degree of certainty that Saddam was going nowhere fast. Now we have other countries taking advantage of our weakened position -- and KLP if you do not recognize how we have limited our Iran/North Korea options by invading Iraq, perhaps it is time you did so.
