First I'll repeat that I don't wish to attack Kerry for his service, which I think was honorable. But I also think the large number of other Swift boat vets who oppose Kerry are entitled to respect as well. And they even have freedom of speech and assembly and the right to voice their opinion.

I listened to one who called in to a local radio station as I drove to work Friday. He made the point that the swift boats worked in teams of several boats. There were usually several other swift boats only a few feet or yards away.

As I understand it, most of the living vets who served under Kerry on his boats for 4 months are supporting him. I don't know how many this is since the boats had small crews - I'd guess 4,5, or 6. Though one who served on Kerry's boat under his command isn't and is adamantly opposed to his election as are the majority of swift boat vets who served on other boats.

I think Kerry's attacks on his fellow servicemen, comparing them to Genghis Khan, after his return to the states is the primary reason for this.
