Brooke, VIDYA on 7/17 is 9.7256, a slight difference. Seeded it on 2/19 with the close 8.875. I am using your spreadsheet, slightly modified to accomodate Metastock. I think the offset is due to the OLE, or my misuse of it. Logically the MA should start 9 days late and go up to the last date. I've been trying to get my TechniFilter formula going today. Even tho I downloaded their cheat-sheet, I'm still doing somethign wrong. Instructions for recursive formulas in the Version 8 manual are minimal. Have written tech support. Linking to a spreadsheet is an interesting exercise, but to use it to filter a large group of stocks is probably not practical. That's why I'm concentration on TFP now. John ..
