Congrats on your service to your country. I enlisted in the USN when I was 18. I only served stateside and did nothing remotely heroic, although I had my share of bumps and bruises and even spent some time in the hospital. Putting your time in was was something we all took for granted as an obligation to our country. You did what was expected of you and some had it easy while others paid a huge price. The one thing we all had in common was that no one expected to be revered for the rest of their of their life just because we served. Well, ALMOST all of us felt that way <ggg> JC
