Interesting article on the Lynndie England trial.

I'd read in the NYTimes that there was, as of yet, no evidence that she was acting on direct orders. It might surface. Who knows? But I'd hate to see her not held accountable for her actions just because she's a. a female, b. a low level soldier, and c. pregnant (by Corporal Graner).

On a lighter note, a VN vet friend of mine just sent me this:

The GOP National Committee announced today that it is changing the Republican emblem from an elephant to a condom because it more clearly reflects the party's political stance, i.e., a condom stands up to inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of pricks and gives one a sense of security while screwing others.
