Quit BS'ing. I've been blaming LBJ as much as Nixon for Vietnam. Point is though, that these days a Texan president who lies to get us into a war and has too-close ties with the oil, weapons and Halliburton gang would not be a democrat but a Bushie republican. The GOP has been hijacked by the far right industrial cabal of Texas linked up with the far right "religious" conservatives under Ralph Reed. Why else would Enron hire Reed in 1999 as an "energy concultant" and pay him 300 K. Evidence: Today's stories show the White House actively intervening to overrule the Park Services and state governments to insist on gas drilling in some prescious presitine wilderness in New Mexico and California. Since when is the White House in the oil and gas business? Sine it's run by two former oil executives, that's when. BTW: Reed's "Christians" and these rightwing "veterans" were also the ones behind slandering McCain's war record in 2000 and putting out slimy lies about his mental state, wife and baby. Some "Christians" and "patriots" huh? Amazing McCain would actually campaign for Bush after that, but apparently he has a plan.
