Agreed. I have served in the military, and I find the notion of military service via draft - let alone forcing young people to choose between a mandatory, impressed stint in the military or "serving" at some bureaucratic, government post - absolutely disgusting; inconsistent with the principles of freedom at every level, and evocative of coercive social programs of collectivist countries.
