Thanks for that. I am reading through all the suggestions but in the mean time I have put the bloody thing at 133 FSB. We'll see. Like nothing more than to putter around with this machine (and get tot he bottom of things) but if this works I'll be happy. After moving it to 133 FSB I did again try to upgrade the BIOS but the same nothingness happened. It's a mystery. I should that I never had any of these problems before reformatting the hard drive on this skg. When I initially bought it and loaded the same xp home I didn't have any problems until I reformatetd a few weeks ago. Sigh.
