This goes back to your line of reasoning about potential conflicts of interest in government work. I did research you -- I just found it interesting to see an example of the "zipper effect" -- in this case between government regulators and business. The same might be said for Bush/Cheney and the oil business. Your points revolved around foreign service and the possibility that US foreign service employees might at some point level the service of the US and work for a foreign government, or at least adopt the perspective of a foreign country. Nothing intended here, other than to cite an example laterally related to the same dilemma in policy making.
