It looks like Rush spent Monday on the swiftees. A clip and a URL.

"Now, two things about this. I've heard a lot of the punditry over the weekend, starting Friday night on the Fox roundtable and on through some of the Saturday, Sunday shows, people complaining about, "This is just the lowest form of politics. Why go back, this is 40 years ago, and Kerry is a war hero and he's got the medals and it's not going to hurt him. And I think it looks bad for these people to come out and do this. It looks pathetic it looks pitiful and so forth." I have a different take on this for one reason. Well now two reasons. The first reason is, I've said -- I'm going to repeat this over and over again -- I am stymied if I can understand, I'm stymied to understand what the Democrats are trying to do with this. I think I understand it; I just can't believe they're doing it. They're so desperate for a war hero. They're so desperate, because of the war on terror, to have a candidate that they think can present an image of toughness and resolve when it comes to the U.S. military because they know they don't have anybody else. They have made too much noise over the years of cutting military budgets and being critical to the military in general, and they know that it's not their issue.

So they go back to a war which they hated. A war which they said was ignoble, a war which they said was immoral, a war they said was unjust, a war they said was criminal, and all of a sudden it is now virtuous. Virtuous enough to extract from it a genuine hero. And the candidate himself shows up and the first thing he does in his speech at the convention is salute and say, "John Kerry reporting for duty." And Novak's right, he spends more time in this speech and this convention, spent more time talking about those four months of Kerry in Vietnam and how it qualifies him to be president, than they have spent talking about the last 20 years of his record in the Senate or of the future. So, of course, it's a campaign issue. He's made it one. Added to it is the fact that he refuses to release his records from this period of time. Remember all this talk about Bush's AWOL records and National Guard records. He won't release them. His wife won't release her tax returns. This is a stealth candidacy, and they're getting away with all this, and now everybody is saying, why is this a big issue? He made it one. The second reason that this interests me, and I could have gotten past this, but this is the first GOP 527 group to sprout up. We've had Michael Moore, we've got a book on how to assassinate Bush......
