The assassinations in Vietnam may have been what turned JFK against continuing with that war.

Kennedy knew about the assassinations in advance and did nothing about it. He could have stopped them.

McNamara is playing to future historians. After 40 years of vilification from the left he decided to throw himself on his sword and "fess up." Vietnam may have been the right idea badly managed. McNamara was the manager. Gee, I wonder who brought him to Washington?
