"The record highs are impressive for both companies, but people are looking
further down the road to determine how much of a drop is in store for the
semiconductor industry," said James Huang, a semiconductor analyst at SinoPac
Securities.

sure, sure but TSM peaked sometime around September 2003 and couple weeks ago TSMC was still projecting revenue growth for this quarter (Q3) and even made some positive growth projections comments for the following quarter Q4 projecting u-rates on the order of 100%

There is NOT much left for TSMC to please...

11-Jun-03 Merrill Lynch Downgrade Buy Neutral
6-May-03 Bear Stearns Downgrade Outperform Peer Perform
31-Mar-03 Deutsche Securities Downgrade Hold Sell
20-Feb-03 Merrill Lynch Upgrade Neutral Buy
29-Jan-03 Deutsche Securities Downgrade Buy Hold
