Ann, My understanding of Kerry's recent explanation for that statement made so many years ago is that he allowed that the word "atrocities" was over the top. He in no way repudiated his testimony, which, by the way, the majority of VN vets I know support in general. It was an ugly war, as all wars, by their nature, are.
