The Alaskan record for a halibut is 440 pounds. After they get above about 100 pounds there is only one way to "net" them. You take a hand gun and when the fish is alongside the boat, you shoot it in the head, and bring in the literally dead weight. Otherwise you can be in a sumo match with a creature that can go over 400 pounds.
