SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug 10, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Atmel Corporation (ATML, Trade), a worldwide leader in the development, fabrication and sale of advanced semiconductors, announced that Fran Barton, Atmel's Chief Financial Officer, will present at the Schwab Soundview Capital Markets Semiconductor Conference on Thursday, August 12, 2004. The presentation will begin at 11:30 a.m. Pacific Time.

Why can't this worldwide leader stop this downtrend? Even on a very nice day for overall markets, atml is still in the red....and the chart looks ugly...we have broken every major support level so far and I suspect it will continue breaking futher support levels....anybody care to guess a bottom on this?

I'm thinking a retest of the .50 - .70 area is very possible.....I'm still long plenty of shares, but did cut my position by about 60% over the last few months...Now debating whether to sell a little more since she cant even get out of the red on a nice green day after a big drop... or hold the rest I have and load up if we see $1 and below again.....what are others doing? It's not a good sign we are smashing thru support levels as quickly as we are....Stochastics have show this to be oversold since $5 and change.....yet we still head down....at what price to buyers step back in, or will they ever step back in <g>?
