your question does not seem serious, but i will answer it seriously anyway. if steven gardner, the machine gunner for some period of time on kerry's boat (who is also part of the "swift boat veterans for truth" group), was on kerry's boat that day that rasmassen was pulled out of the water after the mine blew up the boat rasmassen was on, then gardner certainly should be able to say whether enemy fire was coming from the river banks. i have not heard yes or no from gardner (and maybe gardner was not on board that day) whether they were under fire after the mine exploded. so far i have heard that the three or four swift boats were firing into the river banks during the rescue as cover fire to make sure no enemy fire would come toward the boats or toward the people in the water. maybe you could supply a link where i could read testimony from a kerry-boat sailor that states they were under fire from the enemy after the mine blew up. i have not found that testimony. in the confusion and trauma i don't think a sailor in the water like rasmassen could determine whether he was under fire or not.

my question about steven gardner is so simple and logical that i can't help but wonder why you would question my reasoning. i am trying to understand both sides of the story. aren't you?
