SAMSys Technologies Appoints Jim McLean to Lead Business Development Efforts in Asia
Wednesday August 11, 8:30 am ET

TORONTO, Aug. 11 /CNW/ - SAMSys Technologies Inc. (SMY: TSX), an international provider of Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) hardware solutions and consulting services, has appointed Jim McLean to lead the company's business development efforts throughout Northern Asia.
As director of the Asian division, McLean will be in charge of building SAMSys' Asian business by developing the company's marketing, distribution and support services capabilities throughout China, Korea and Singapore. SAMSys is establishing its Asian sales office in Shanghai, China and will work through strategic partners and qualified Value Added Resellers (VARs) throughout the region.

"We have long recognized the importance of the Asian market to the global Supply Chain - both as a source of manufacturing and consumption. There can be little doubt that the concomitant impact on the emerging RFID Industry will be equally dramatic. Accordingly, we believe that this market represents a tremendous opportunity for us and we are committed to an aggressive development program, and have already successfully introduced our products into a number of key early-stage initiatives," said Cliff Horwitz, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SAMSys. "We welcome Jim into the SAMSys team and feel confident that he is the ideal person to lead our efforts in establishing the many and varied relationships we will need to achieve our goals."

Fluent in the Mandarin language, McLean brings more than 30 years of high-tech business experience ranging from software engineering to data collection in the Asian market. Prior to joining SAMSys, he served as Director of Marketing and Alliances for Greater China with Intermec Corp., one of the largest data collection corporations in the world. McLean holds a Bachelor's degree in Management and Information Systems from the University of San Francisco.
