The group that funded the ads is a 527 group, the same type of organization as Moveon.org. I would suggest that the Moveon.org contributors are also highly partisan. The last time I looked, Moveon.org does not list their contributors in their ads. If I am not mistaken, the IRS requires that the 527 groups disclose their contributors on a quarterly basis. Too bad. The disclosures should be monthly.

I think that Perry has contributed $6 million to GOP causes over his lifetime. Stephen Bing has contributed $16 million to Democratic causes this year.

About ten years ago I picked up a bronze medallion from the Finance Committee of CREEP at an antique show. The accompanying card, signed by Maurice Stans, reads "Many thanks for all your support!" If I recall correctly, Mr. Stans did some time, though that did not prevent him from being inducted in the Accounting Hall of Fame. Yes, there is an Accounting Hall of Fame.
