Tony, the indicators I based my comments on were Time Segmented Volume, which is negative on a 1 and 2 day chart, along with On Balance Volume, which remains in a negative trend in all time frames. Obviously that isn't conclusive, but tends to point towards short term weakness in my opinion.

I've seen abundant commentary and speculation on a possible acquisition of Ascend by Lucent. It makes sense, but one has to question the wisdom of Ascend's acquisition of Cascade if they were considering themselves available for buyout. Of course, if one is to believe Lucent's interest in making one or more major networking acquisitions, there is every reason to believe they would explore all of their options, including the possible acquisition of 3Com. It's actually a better fit in many ways, as 3Com's distribution channels and international presence are vastly superior to Ascend's. And, an acquisition of that size is certainly within Lucent's means.

There. I'm on the record. Now it's wait & see time.
