The New Apple.

>Joel Kocher was a fool. He believed that he could combat Apple by turning you, the Mac faithful, against them. He subverted many, but you should consider something; Power Computing essentially takes an Apple logic board and hacks it to run faster. Then, they add some zippy graphics card, and after paying Apple a meager licensing fee, they make scads of cash of their hack! Apple on the other hand designs a board, tests it, redesigns it, tests it again, pay employees to make and break it. Which costs more? Apple has to compete with someone who takes their equipment and fine tunes it, while they spend big buck designing it. Hey, wouldn't you raise the fees?<
