I read some of Mathison's book. His portion on "sola scriptura"
was a travesty to say the least.

He basically concluded that the 'proper use of tradition' was somehow
'sola scriptura' - I am surprised at just how gullible some
people I know personally were when they read his book.

Concerning his description of another man's beliefs
I can not believe anyone who truly understood the preterist
position would not also believe it but...

I would not trust anyone's quotes of what other believe.

especially when they are against that man's position.

It is better to see for yourself what those people believed
than to accidentally continue a false witness against them.

It is unfortunate that even Christians cannot be trusted -
especially when they are on a 'crusade of truth'.

Mathison's work was very very poor - I did not check out everything
he said - the chapter on sola scriptura alone was enough for me.

I do know 2 fellows who had planned to write a book to refute it
but when they saw the book decided not to bother - one of them
did write an article refuting a couple of chapter but that was it.

On the fellow was Dr. Kelly Birks - I can recall the other guys name.

I spoke with Dr. Birks on the phone and he told me he wasn't
going to spend any time refuting the book and that he was quite shocked it was so poorly constructed.
