If greenie was right about the economy, the market is going in the wrong direction if one looks six months out. I am scared that the market may be creating a self fulfilling prophecy. I dont look at my statements any more and a conservatively invested friend said the same to me earlier today. Down market hurts consumer confidence and will begin to have an effect on the luxury end of the retail market if this goes on much longer. High oil, falling markets, rising interest rates, terror fears, etc. will soon be more than a wall of worry. Action needed! Perhaps good first step is to stop filling the reserve and release some black gold. Hell sell it at a profit. I know the effects may only be psychological but we have the beginnings here of a psych depression like we had until 2003.. mike
