Apple elitism again

Why cannot we change deep-seated attitude. Change is the single constant in computer technology. Power Computing has no choice but to use Apple boards and modify them. CHRP is not wide available and is still not supported by Apple who earlier had planned for its arrival. Now they are backtracking cringing in fear that CHRP will again take away their meagre market share. Don't they realize the bigger picture?? Without CHRP people will not buy an Apple machine which is more expensive than an IBM compatible. Apple needs to embrace these changes not reject them and cry they are dying because of it. If they can't grow up in the 80's how do you expect Apple to survive in the 90's and next century?

Don't get me wrong, I use the Mac and like it a lot. But Apple's failure in the past with OS development was probably caused by very near-sighted people who wanted to control the hardware and licensing of its software. If they make the same mistake, which it seems like they are doing, Apple will have a very short history in the computer books.
