In this analysis, are you assuming the stories are true, false, or that it doesn't matter.

When I started this discussion, I stated that I was assuming for the sake of argument that the stories are true. Which is effectively the same thing as saying it doesn't matter because even if they're true and you know that they're true, it's dumb to vote for the guy who wants to go in what you consider to be the wrong direction.

As for whether I think the stories are true or not, I really haven't considered that carefully. I don't have the resources to evaluate the matter nor do I have the interest given that it doesn't matter. If and when someone reputable sorts it out and produces a management summary, then I'll see what I think. <g> My guess is that there is some basis for part of it--these stores don't come out of nowhere--and that the rest of it is oversensitivity or bias or legitimate difference of recollection/perspective, etc.
