My point is that clarity is not the singular attribute you want to call out in a leader. All leaders need some ambiguity at some point in their decision making process. Kerry calls it 'complexity'.

Hitler believed that his clarity was an attribute. He was credited with stopping a military disaster early in the war with Russia, during the winter of 41-42, by using that clarity to refuse his forces requests to retreat. Since it worked, he assumed that clarity was a virtue, and never would allow others to introduce 'complexity' to his decision making. Fortunately for the world, this flaw was doom.
