I almost am hesitant to write this because I am afraid that the sources will not sit well with those of you who are Clinton Haters but the two sources for me were:

Blinded by the Right, David Borck who said that the American Spectator had sought out and then paid the troopers to come forward with that story about Clinton. He was personally involved in the attack.

Clinton's own book My Life wherein he discusses the incident and how it died of ennui because it was proven that the troopers were lying. He in fact knew so many of them and they were a bit embarrassed to have betrayed him in such a fashion. It brought home to me what people can be persuaded to do for money. And especially since I would suspect that Arkansas troopers don't make that much.

Who on this board would lie for about fifty thousand as that was the figure was supposed to have been. I would not... However, in my life time I have known quite a few.
