But Ken: The Republican Convention comes up in a few weeks. And in NYC.

Both are no accident. Both will serve as a dramatic reminder to a forgetful public that what happened on 9/11 was not the end but just the beginning.

And by the time the Republican Convention ends, you will find the polls amazingly reversing course. By the middle of October, Kerry will begin to look like his friend Dukakis looked. Remember, Dukakis was 19 points ahead in August. And look what happened when George Bush, who also had a late convention, opened up his big guns. Dukakis was then a lost cause looking for a friend. And when the real Commander-in-Chief steps on the stage, he will not be the one who salutes. It will be the huge crowd of roaring and screaming Republicans who will be doing the salute.

Bye-bye Kerry.
