Alan hit it on the head.

There is no cure for Smallpox.


There is no cure for a nuke on your noggin, either, the fatality rate is a whole lot worse than smallpox and there is no vaccination. I don't mean to make light of the problems associated with a smallpox outbreak, just get some perspective. I was surprised that anyone would put it atop the fearsome list, which is why I questioned Alan. Now Ebola, that's scary. Highly contagious, no cure, no treatment, no vaccine, no public health plan, no nothing.
