If George Bush and his henchmen were found guilty of the part they played in engineering 9/11, and the murder of 3000 Americans, would you be against their being placed in front of a firing squad for treason? For some crimes only a death sentence will balance the books. <<<it just doesn't make any sense in a civilized society>>> Actually, it only makes sense in a civilized society. When a society fails to accept responsibility for holding criminals accountable for actions committed against society, that society ceases to be civilized. The end result is a criminal rule with honest citizens in constant danger from their criminal acts, which isn't a very far cry from where most population centers in America are today. When citizens fail to take responsibility for their own mutual protection, civilization is the first casualty.
