and they are asking for proof that he may have been in Cambodia Christmas 1968.

The "Cambodia" story is Kerry's highpoint from his Nam experience. The proof that it was a lie has been out there. I just posted a column on it. Here's a guote.

In Douglas Brinkley's biography, "Tour of Duty," based in part on Kerry's diary, Kerry was at Sa Dec, 58 miles from Cambodia.

Brinkley is friend of Kerry, and the tale is that he has just completed a "rewrite" of this incident for this coming week's "New Yorker."

So Kerry's "Christmas in Cambodia" statement is, as the Nixon spokesman said, "no longer operative." :>)
