Kerry was a hero with over 20 enemy kills, saved lives, took the offensive, killed a VC with an RPG aimed at his boat (the rightwing lies that this was an unarmed "kid" running away who JK "shot in the back") and won the Silver Star, Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts. Same decorations as Ollie North by the way. And also, Kerry was a kid who could have avoided the war like Bush and CEheney but instead he volunteered. For combat.
