Andy, thanks for all your posts that imply that Kerry should not be elected as president.
I am very aware of all the tit and tats that have been going on. This is not surprising as this is a dog-eat-dog world. Confrontation is natural among all living species and in particular among humans.
To me, the Vietnam issue is relatively minor when compared with far weightier and more fundamental issues in the coming election. And, no doubt, it is and will continue to be seen by some if not by very many, as something of a red-herring, that is, something that distracts Americans from far more important matters.
Needless to say, politics is a dirty game: the higher the stakes, the dirtier it gets.
I am inclined to believe that Kerry will answer the charges, seen by so many as scurrilous and unscrupulous (and with good reason), sooner than later. I believe that a perspicacious man that he is will not allow himself to be drawn into giving impulsive responses.
For the moment, Repubniks can fret and wait and hope all they want. At least, for the time being, whilst dark clouds loom ominously over their horizon, they have a reason for to be. |
