i don't think the swiftboat stuff just surfaced. i remember reading an article in the houston chronicle on o'neill back in about january, 2004, in which o'neill talked about some kerry fabrications and that he had debated kerry in 1971 on tv. o'neill said in that article that he was rounding up other swiftboat people to tell their side of the story about kerry's service. kerry's people had to have known if they made any missteps there would be some proof to offer up about kerry's service.
