some elections are won by the candidate who can convince a majority of voters (or at least electoral votes) that he has less warts than the other. Kerry showed sparks of excitement in his acceptance speech that gave/gives me hope that he could make a positive diffence towards the vision of America that i would like to see. I am operating under the assumption that the anti-kerry swifties are part of a republican dis-information campaing, and just the very beginning of it. I'd trust more the men who actually served in combat with him. So, to answer your question, my excitement has dimmed a bit, but I still would prefer to see Kerry as our next prez than 4 more countries, er, i mean 4 more years with Bush2. The war the US, and the world, is fighting against terror needs to be fought with might and conviction. Of that Bush2 certainly is over-flowing. But unless we are capable of understanding why so many are against us, their passions, etc., then it will be a never-ending battle with greater and greater 9-11s. When Kerry spoke of "sensitivity" - i don't think he meant dealing with the terrorists in a sensitive manner, but to be aware of the overall picture. Cheney responded that you are not sensitive with the terrorists, you kill them. America cheers. It is going to be a long, ugly, nasty, campaign. I think Bush will win. I hope Kerry does. (okay, you can give me your quote about hope again) larry |
