Jesus was not a political philosopher. Jesus was, as He described himself, The Son of God who came into the world to save sinners. He was not concerned with politics or philosophers. He was concerned with the condition of the human heart and that on a one-to-one basis which means that Jesus was not even interested in the Church. He did, however, spend a lot of his time reminding the Pharisees of their hard-heartedness and their blind indifference to the truth which kept them from knowing the truth.

But Jesus preached the same message to the Pharisees as he preached to the poor and the outcasts of his day:

"Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me. For I am meek and lowly and you shall find rest unto your souls."

That is not philosophy. That is not even religion. But it is the truth because Jesus is the truth. He said: "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man cometh to the Father but by me. For I and the Father are One."

And no one comes to these truths except by faith, believing. These truths must be "received" and not merely discovered. To discover them is an intellectual experience. To receive them is a spiritual experience. And the difference between the two experiences define the difference between those who would make Jesus a philosopher and a personal Saviour.
