Bush was, of course, kinda self-deluded on that one. He made no mention with reference to Canada.

As for the Canadian dollar called the "Loonie" (your spelling), it was named after the Canadian loon a bird of the north. It was not named after some nondescript idler or foolish loon.

The Canadian dollar was not named with the connotation that you probably had implied. If you seriously thought the Canadian dollar was that "loonie", then you are truly a s.o.n (= son of a nut) LOL!
