A couple of more things about the Dick Cavett show. It was almost quaint the way the show was ran - genteel moderator and two guys who obviously didn't like each other, but still allowed the other to finish saying his piece before speaking. Very little interrupting and no talking over the other guy. It became evident that what animated O'Neill the most was Kerry's 'war criminal' testimony before the US Senate. He also made an excellent case for the Vietnamization process that was then underway. Such a pity we didn't follow through. Brought back memories of how we pulled the rug out from under those people...
