Bill Clinton was a pot-smoker, draft-dodger, adulterer, protested his own country on foreign soil, etc. It didn't matter.

It did matter. You're just morally blind. Because of Clinton, America no longer has enough respect for the Office of the Presidency or for itself to summarily reject would-be presidents who it clearly knows to be dishonest. A serious Kerry candidacy would not be possible without the now cheap, disrespectful office and nation left behind by Bill Clinton.
