If there is any mistake here it is the Swiftboat Vets did not make this as a documentary, then it could be said, it is all true, because, as it is said of MIchael Moore, he makes documentaries, and they, therefore, are true. I doubt it would win 1st place at Cannes, but I'll bet it would clean up at the box office. Imagine, if you will, as we follow the story of a young man, separated from his parents for many years, who volunteers, says "send me" and then, "reporting for duty". We follow his saga for 4 long, long months, through multiple brave actions and bleeding Purple Hearts, awarding of many medals, but underlying the film, in living 8mm on scene, all is not well, and near the end, when the young man runs for political office it is found he is a f***ing liar, and the film we saw was , in actuality, all make believe, and was actually his dreams , not reality. A smasheroo. We get Alec Baldwin for the psuedo hero(fine casting there), Barbara Streisand singing "When I wish Upon a Star' for background music, Rob Reiner to direct, and the cast of the Sopranos as the Viet Cong, Lanny Davis as legal advisor, Jane Fonda as the love interest, James Carville as advance man, and on and on. We might even star Whoppi Goldberg as the woman scorned when she find our hero is a bigot, and she is not wealthy enough for him, therefore Jane appears. Room for all. In the end, one courageous man, George W. Bush, steps up and saves the country, preventing Goofy Annan from becoming president, as the liberal left attempts to vote him in at a clandestine meeting held in Chad, claiming they have the more than enough popular chads to elect Goofy. Goofy claims he is over 35 and a world citizen, therefore qualified to be president. Jimmy Carter approves the election in Chad as legal, seconded by Jacques Chirac as the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Band plays "Hail To Goofy", to the tune of "God Save the Queen". Gerhard Schroeder nods his head approvingly, saying, "Dachu', "Dachu", when he really means to say "Danke" "Danke". Gerhard was thinking of the good old days when nobody screwed with 'le Boche'. Think I can get George Soros to 'Angel' this?? All re-write appreciated, and compensated at the usual word rate of the ASPCA.
