It is due to this vulnerability plus the money to be gained that 'accidents' are occurring quite frequently sending and keeping it up the price of oil. Iraq is an accident waiting to happen. There is a lot of people to be pacified in order to loot Iraq's oil. This costs money. Then it needs to be added the costs of dealing with the internal conflicts that will happen among all the US front men in charge of the government, this is the maintenance of the peace n there.
