Kerry would have been far better off if he'd been able to have his Dad pull some strings to get him into a nice guard slot so he wouldn't have had to risk his ass overseas.... (Maybe he could have also managed to get some strings pulled to be reclassified as an 'Administrative Aide' if he ever didn't report to his posting, got caught, got bounced from his classification... and got reported to his local draft board.... I guess that would have been the 'smart play' too!)
