Wide reports that former FBI director Louis Freeh offered to act as New Jersey head of Homeland Security without compensation! And McGreevey turned him down in favor of his lover, an Israeli sailor, with no security background and couldn't even get a clearance.

Well, in fairness, the guy says he was straight and did not sleep with McGreevey. Just blackmailed him, that's all. Or was it extortion? Is there a difference?
